Do you know how to read the nomenclature on a blower wheel? This is a very common wheel. It reads:
10 inches (tall) by 9 inches (diameter)
DD = direct drive
.5 inch bore (set screw hole)
CLW = clockwise
CC = concave

It's getting hotter! 100 in April? Maybe..... folks.
So who has changed their air filter this month? Every Month till October 1st! OK. Think of it like this.... It takes about 12 full households full of air to run through your A/C sysyem to bring down the air temp every time it comes on
Now with a clean A/C filter lets say for example it takes 10 min.(every home will be different) But with a filter that's 30 days old it may now take 20 min. Now 60 days old could take 30 min. You just possibly doubled or tripled your A/C bill by NOT changing your filter.

Now where does all that air that can't get through the filter go? Well it flows around the filter. Where does all that junk in your air that did not get trapped in the filter go? Well let me tell you. It ends up in the A/C coil!!! Yuck... This causes damage to all kinds of things, it can even cause Compresser failure. What's it cost to clean that coil? It can be several hundred $$$ or more.(Filters are much cheaper) But which filter should I buy? Answer: Not the cheap fiberglass filter. If you can see through it, what will it catch? A good quality Pleated filer can be found at many hardware departments and home centers. So save your budgets and protect your A/C system and change that filter now!

I've been in the Air Conditioning business In the Las Vegas Valley for nearly 40 years.

During my 40 years I've had the opportunity to experience many different situations pertaining to residential and commercial air conditioning systems.

I'm going to share my expertise and help you understand the basic operation of your air conditioning systems. Hoping that we can help you get through the searing heat of our blistering desert summers in the months ahead, allowing you to keep cool and not lose your mind.

Some of what I'm going to tell you is going to seem counter intuitive, but believe me I've been doing this a long time and I will not steer you wrong.

1st ! Leave that Thermostat ALONE !!!!
This is the biggest mistake most homeowners will make, Setting the thermostat below 74 will not get it cooler in your home any faster. Your air conditioner has one speed. It is either on or it is off. Setting the thermostat down below 74ﾟ is harmful to your system and can cause catastrophic failure up to and including compressor replacement. Unless you have a few extra thousand just laying around you have no plans for. Hands off that Stat.

With the heat of summer almost upon us, A few tips to help you Keep your cool. Replace your air conditioning filters every 30 days during the hot summer months. Your AC system will thank you and you'll breathe easier.

Remember your home air conditioning system has certain limitations it can only cool your home to approximately 30ﾟ below outdoor temperature. So if it's 110ﾟ outside your AC system can only bring the temperature in your home down to about 80ﾟ
Set your thermostat between 74 to 78ﾟ and leave it there, this is the best setting for your personal comfort and the longevity of your A/C system.
Turning the thermostat lower will not improve the equipments ability to cool your home. Your AC unit only has one speed. You can actually Freeze up your air conditioning system and Cause Equipment Failure.

I can not emphasize this enough, get your system checked!

This is the least expensive way to help ward off high dollar repairs. A inexpensive capacitor failure can lead to high dollar compressor failure very quickly and without warning
