A Wingnut Welding Christmas Poem, Volume 2
‘‘Twas very early in the morning on Christmas Day
Old Wingnut was getting ready to hit the hay.
His phone rang so suddenly, it made him stop.
“Hey Wingnut, this is Santa. Come down to your shop!”
So he fired up the diesel and went to his place,
The reindeer and sleigh occupies his street space.
“I just had to stop and express gratification
For last years Welding and fabrication.
I’ve been around the world a couple times and back,
just look at your work, there’s nary a crack!
When I got back to the pole, the elves painted after sanding.
It has taken abuse from many hard landings.
You couldn’t see the repair when they were done.
In my book, Mr. Wingnut, you’re number one!
So I’ve got some special toys for your three little ones.
I hope they enjoy them and have lots of fun!
I wanted to do something to make Casey’s day,
But a shiny Moline wouldn’t fit in the sleigh.
I saw a nice U way up in Alaska
and two nice Zs in western Nebraska.
But of course, they wouldn’t fit in here today.
But I might be back with one someday.
I’ve got more to do, I must hit the skies.
Merry Christmas Wingnut, you’re a helluva guy!”
They shook hands and tired Wingnut went home to bed.
He couldn’t believe he’d seen the man dressed in red.
He fell fast asleep, it was so late,
And dreamed of Casey and Santa and a moline from ‘48.
When he awoke and told Casey what he’d been through,
She said “oh Jake, I hope your dream does come true!”
So at the Wingnut household, that was the Christmas scene,
With stockings and presents and Moline dreams!
