The Titanium Axle upgrade Kit for Ravin R470 and R500 is a one-for-one upgrade for those who own those crossbows and want a more reliable and higher performance from their bow. The kit consists of two button-headed titanium axles and two button-headed titanium screws. The titanium axle weighs 147 gn, a 45%+ reduction in weight and is 3.259" shank length.
Like all products made of Titanium, these axles should last forever—they’re rustproof and, as mentioned in the Titanium Kits section, ultra-rigid. Consider this: your bow cam is the focal point of the kinetic energy being exerted on your crossbow, and at over 470 fps, there’s a lot of that energy to go around. With a titanium axle kit as the backbone for each of your cams, the output of all that energy will be more focused. Usually, a 30 fps or about 3.5% faster has been observed at 60 yards as Titanium minimizes the energy-consuming microflex action and allows the arrow to retain more energy. When used with a well-constructed, custom-built arrow, it is as much as 8% faster than a factory setup when changing the axle alone on an R500 factory arrow at 60 yards.
