This Oklahoma heat doesn’t just make us miserable — it puts a serious workload on your air-conditioning system. When temperatures stay high throughout the day, your system may run for much longer periods trying to remove heat from your home and maintain the temperature you have set.

That’s also when smaller problems tend to start showing themselves.

Some of the most common issues we see during extreme heat include:

🔥 EXTREME HEAT IS TOUGH ON YOUR A/C SYSTEM ❄️

We recently responded to a no A/C call where the system was building extremely high head pressure and shutting down on its high-pressure safety.

This particular Lennox system has a double condenser coil, and dirt and debris had built up between the two sections. To properly clean it, we had to split the condenser coil apart and thoroughly clean between both coils to restore proper airflow.

Restricted condenser airflow can cause extremely high operating pressures, reduced efficiency, longer run times, high-pressure trips, and additional stress on the compressor and other major components.

And this is only one of the common problems we are seeing during this extreme heat.

On a daily basis, we are responding to systems with:

• Faulty capacitors
• Faulty contactors
• Dirty or plugged filters
• Dirty indoor and outdoor coils
• Blower and condenser fan motor issues
• Refrigerant and airflow problems
• Systems shutting down because they simply cannot operate properly under the added heat load

When temperatures stay in the upper 90s and 100s, your A/C is already working hard. A dirty coil, weak capacitor, plugged filter, or other small issue can quickly become a complete no-cooling call.

Today we removed an old, unreliable split system and replaced it with a brand-new 5-ton, 3-phase American Standard split system to keep another local business comfortable and operating with confidence.
