We're proud to announce the successful completion of, yet another, Life Sciences Laboratory space at UCSF's Parnassus Heights Campus. This space will serve to expand the Singh Lab's aquatic research capabilities, where several species of African Killfish are used to research the genetic basis of complex phenotypes such as diapause and aging. The project included extensive architectural, structural and MEP improvements to facilitate the installation of an advanced aquatic research habitat in an existing 1950's building.

MCC partnered with UC Berkeley this summer to deliver the next project in a series that will provide new advanced teaching spaces with advanced A/V and remote lecture capabilities. This program includes renovating tired old lecture halls, introducing more collaborative layouts and aesthetically appealing finishes for the next generation of learning. Thank you to our Project Superintendent, Christopher Porter, and Project Engineer, Christian Aguirre, for bringing this one home! We'd also like to extend our sincerest thanks to the rest of our crew and all of our awesome trade partners for bringing this project to life.

This Summer & Fall, MCC had the pleasure of partnering with UC Berkeley's Law School to deliver the largest Gender Inclusive Restroom facility on the UC Berkeley Campus. This project involved the consolidation of multiple existing restroom and classroom spaces to create a multi-stall gender inclusive restroom as well as an adjacent single occupant restroom in the occupied Law School Building. This restroom is outfitted with an innovative zero-gap partition system, sourced from Thrislington Cubicles in the UK, complete with integrated low voltage occupancy indicators. We would like to extend our greatest thanks to our trade partners as well as our Project Superintendent, Andy Laton and Project Engineer, Jose Lopez Sanchez for knocking this one out of the park!

In the end, everyone was a winner with a weekend in Sonoma and gifts like Airpods, Blackstone Griddles and Tailgate Speakers that made the rounds in our company-sponsored white elephant exchange.

While we love creating new an innovative spaces, sometimes it's our job to make things disappear! With an all-star trade contractor team, MCC completed the emergency removal of this red-tagged structure, perched 8 floors up, atop the UCSF School of Nursing at Parnassus Heights. The project also included restoration of building elements disturbed by demolition.

Fun Fact: MCC has partnered with ACCO Engineered Systems to replace the laboratory exhaust system at the building in the background of the photo; the UCSF Institute for Regenerative Medicine.

This Summer, MCC completed The Sacred Rest Daytime Drop-in Center in Berkeley's Telegraph Avenue District, adjacent to the UC Berkeley Campus. The project created a safe park-like setting for non-profit service providers to administer services such as mental health counseling, career advising and free meals to the local unhoused community.

We're happy to showcase, yet another, brilliant retail branch buildout for Bank of The West in Emeryville, CA. With 100+ Corporate & Retail banking projects under our belt, "You can take our experience to the Bank!"

Fun Fact: MCC constructed the prototype rollout for this new style of retail branch for Bank of The West in the South Bay a few years ago and it has since been implemented all over the country!
