With the winter weather expected this weekend, we want everyone to be prepared and safe:
π§ Keep faucets dripping to relieve pressure on your plumbing system and prevent frozen pipes.
π Open curtains during the day and close them at night. Let the sunlight naturally warm your home during the day.
πͺ Close doors to unoccupied rooms to help concentrate heat in the areas youβre using.
πΊ Watch weather reports closely. Stay aware of changing winter conditions so you can adjust plans, gather supplies, and stay safe if warnings or advisories are issued.
π Avoid unnecessary travel and winterize your vehicle if you must go out. Check tires, fluids, wipers, and emergency supplies before driving.
π§₯ Dress in warm layers to help retain body heat.
π Stock up on essentials like water, food, medications, and batteries. Prepare enough supplies to last several days in case travel becomes unsafe or power outages occur.
πΎ Bring pets inside. Cold temperatures can be dangerous for animals. Provide a warm, safe space indoors for all pets.
π€ Check on elderly neighbors and vulnerable community members. Make sure they have heat, food, and needed supplies, especially during extended cold snaps.
π Charge phones and backup batteries. A full charge ensures you can access emergency updates and stay connected even during outages.
Stay safe, stay warm, and look out for each other!π
