Hermantown Hawks LEGO Robotics Club

Hermantown Hawks LEGO Robotics Club LEGO Robotics Club is starting soon for 4th graders at Hermantown. Then rolled out to students in grades 4-8 through Community Education.

Learn to build and program your own robot! Unleash the creative
powers of the LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robots to create and command
robots that walk, talk, think and do anything you can imagine. Bring your robot to life with an easy, intuitive and icon-based
programming interface (drag and drop programming). Working in a team of 2-3 students, you will build a basic robot. You’ll learn good engineering

and building practices to make a
more structurally sound robot. Next you’ll bring that robot to
life when you learn basic programming for forward, backward and
turning movement. Each week you and your team will build on this
basic knowledge and add the use of different sensors (light,
touch, sound, and ultrasonic) to improve the robot performance. During each session, your team will apply what you’ve learned with
mini-challenges that will culminate in a Grand Finale Challenge on
the last day.
