Being ‘Proactive’ and not ‘Reactive’ can save you lots of money and headache when it comes to certain mechanical items in your home!

While servicing this long time customer’s HVAC, we noticed a major fluctuation in water pressure, and expected to find a faulty well tank, and we did…..at just over 5 years old. The customer also noted the 15+ year age of the water heater.

A few days later, we replaced the well tank with a new Well-X-Trol tank (much higher quality than the Pentair, and a 7-year warranty), and the water heater with a new Bradford White water heater. Thank goodness we did this now. Based on the amount of rust that came out of the old water heater, it was only a matter of time till this customer had a flooded basement.

Sometimes you have to do a little extra work and remove the rooftop unit by hand, to uncover the terrible workmanship of previous contractors, and ensure your finished product is perfect!!! Now I can have a proper curb adapter made, and the new unit will condition the space better than ever.

It is amazing the “hack jobs” we uncover……all the time!

This old chiller gave OIP’s MRI department 19 years of reliable operation, but it was time to replace it before it broke down and caused major down time.

This Chiller is used to remove heat from a cryogenic helium compressor unit that keeps the magnet of the MRI machine cool and operating properly. It is a very important part to the MRI departments operation, yet most don’t even know about it because it sits on the roof.

Spring has sprung…..and unfortunately so did this customer’s electric bill when their 20+ year old heat pump decided to have a “heart attack”. (Compressor failure). Electric back up heat got them through, but was not nice to the wallet.

This new 16 SEER2 heat pump system will provide them with years of comfort and lower energy bills, and they will breathe easy with an upgraded Aprilaire media air cleaner. This system is covered by Armstrong Air’s System Shield warranty of 12 years on parts and compressor, and an unheard of 12-year labor warranty on repairs of the equipment itself.

While installing the new system we took the extra time to make the system more accessible for service and filter changing. We also found multiple issues with the duct system that needed addressed, including a large hole from an old duct that was wasting airflow above the ceiling in the basement. These extra repairs will help make the system overall even more efficient.

Regular maintenance truly does add life to an HVAC system, and this old Armstrong Air is a testament to that statement. ...

Regular maintenance truly does add life to an HVAC system, and this old Armstrong Air is a testament to that statement.

Just shy of 25 years ago (March 29, 2000), Mike’s father installed this Armstrong Air heat pump for a long-time customer. I was able to dig up the old customer card that he used to keep track of customer information. Well before the digital world exploded. You can see that this customer regularly had her system serviced. The last date on the card is 2011, just prior to Mike and I starting our digital record keeping.

This new Armstrong Air 15.8 SEER2 heat pump will, with regular maintenance, provide another 20+ years of comfort for this customer.

This new heat pump is covered by an awesome 12-year parts and compressor warranty, and a 12-year labor warranty.

After 24+ years of operation, this Carrier furnace fired its last time last week…..during the extreme cold. The final demise of this furnace was a notorious failure of the secondary heat exchanger. These furnaces are known for this issue. Quite surprised it did not rot out sooner.

A new Armstrong Air 97% efficient furnace and 15.5 SEER 2-stage air conditioner will keep this customer comfortable for another 20+ years.

An added bonus, the air will be cleaned by an Aprilaire media air cleaner and humidified with an Aprilaire whole house humdifier. Additionally this customer will receive an amazing 12-year warranty on parts and compressor, and a 12-year labor warranty on the Armstrong Air equipment.

What an upgrade!

The Tri-County Boat Club building is ready for the hot summer weather and a busy season of customers and gatherings.

We replaced two old air conditioners with new high efficient heat pumps. This new dual fuel set up will slash the oil bill for sure in the winter, and keep the space cool all summer long. Additionally, we have installed a mini-split heat pump in the manager’s office, that way they can stay cool and comfortable as they keep the club running. (Or warm in those cold winter months).

As part of this project, we subcontracted a company to install 3” of spray foam insulation on the ceiling of the entire building.

“You get hot water, and you get hot water, and you get hot water……everyone gets hot water!!!

This project is finally complete! We removed two 1 million BTU water heaters from this 100-unit apartment building and installed a brand-new rack of 12 Rinnai Tankless water heaters.

What a project! Overall, it took us over 2 months to complete due to multiple other projects and services in between. Yesterday we finished the final details and erased this installation off our project board.

This client was incredibly surprised to learn that they will be receiving over $9,500 back in rebates from UGI for this setup. Huge win!
