What an incredible project to be a part of with Vaughn Construction at the University of Houston!

The new UH Innovation Hub is designed to foster innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurship. Each floor has a unique purpose - from makerspaces and collaborative work areas to the Wolff Center for Entrepreneurship, the Dakri Center for Economic Inclusion, the Energy Transition Institute, and cutting-edge research space for Presidential Frontier Faculty.

Our team installed 270 Engineered Aggregate Piers (EAPs) over two mobilizations to improve the existing fill left behind from a previous structure. Despite working around existing foundation remnants and navigating weather delays, our crew delivered the project on schedule.

We’re excited to continue expanding into the Southwest with the successful completion of the 5-story Pinal County Administration Building in Florence, Arizona, alongside FCI Constructors.

Engineered Aggregate Piers were selected as a value-driven alternative to removing and replacing the existing loose clayey sand, helping streamline both cost and schedule.

We completed our work 20% ahead of schedule, and we’re looking forward to building on this momentum with future projects across Arizona.

Earlier this year, our team completed the installation of both compression and tension (uplift) piers for the 7-story Washington Ave Parking Garage in Houston, TX in partnership with JLB Builders.

Engineered Aggregate Piers were selected as a value-driven solution to avoid the removal and replacement of undocumented fill, while increasing allowable bearing pressures for spread footings to 10,000 psf.

Another successful student housing project in Eugene, Oregon.

This 15-story building was located on approximately 8 feet of soft sandy silt. Our Engineered Aggregate Piers (EAPs) were selected as an alternative to removing and replacing the soft soils, while increasing the allowable bearing capacity to 8,000 psf for shallow foundations.

A great example of how ground improvement can turn challenging soil conditions into a reliable foundation for large vertical construction.

Our team recently completed the installation of Engineered Aggregate Piers (EAPs) for Bremik Construction on the 6-story Gresham Civic Station project in Gresham, Oregon.

The site included 6 feet of undocumented fill beneath finish floor. TheEAP system provided an efficient ground improvement solution by controlling differential settlement, increasing allowable bearing pressure to 5,000 psf, and avoiding the costly removal and replacement of the undocumented fill.

Proud of the team for delivering another reliable and cost-effective foundation solution.

We’re excited to be part of this landmark project in Portland, OR alongside Lease Crutcher Lewis.

One of the former department stores at the Lloyd Center is being transformed into a new mid-sized live music venue, and GTFC-West recently completed both compression and tension aggregate piers to support the new steel-framed structure.

Portland is known for its iconic small venues and the large Moda Center, but it’s long needed a high-quality mid-sized space for artists with a strong local following. We’re proud to help lay the foundation for what will become a key piece of the city’s music scene.

Over the holidays, our team completed the Fairway Loop Bldg D project in Eugene, Oregon with John Hyland Construction. Built over variable soft silts and sands, this four-story mixed-use development benefited from our ground improvement which provided a uniform 5,000 psf bearing capacity.

We recently completed Engineered Aggregate Pier installation for Dawson Construction on the new City Hall project in Ferndale, Washington.

Due to high groundwater levels and sandier soils near the surface, this project required casing of the pier cavities, which necessitated a third excavator and careful coordination of multiple machines in a confined work area. We’re proud to have completed the project on schedule, with zero safety incidents.
