Here we worked on a LinkBelt excavator this week. We were originally supposed to go in and carbon arc off an old set of thumb mounts, and install a set for a hydraulic thumb. As we were removing the support plates we found that the stick was cracked. We had to regroup and repair the stick before installing the new thumb.
Now we did have an accident on this project while test fitting the thumb and cylinder. The thumb fell backwards and put a small dent in the cylinder, this caused it to not complete a full stroke. So unfortunantly i got to buy a new cylinder for it. No matter how good you are, you still end up with accidents.

Added some manways to a pair of gastanks. These tanks were removed from underground at a gas station. They will be blasted and epoxy coated, and then reinstalled. The man ways were added so that the inside of the tank can be serviced.

Had a komatsu excavator dipper stick brought in that had cracking through the head and in the center of the stick. This was a quick turnaround weekend job, this unit has to go back out first thing Monday morning.

Well, Friday we added some new old equipment to the shop. This is a 135 ton, 8ft wide Cincinnati press brake. And got it with some extra tooling too.

Here is a heavy duty truck rack paired with a 12,000 lb capasity winch bumper mounted to a 2026 Ford 550. Thanks to Atomic Blasting LLC for preping and painting these units. And We have several more of these to get built.

Opporator was swinging the bucket around but forgot to check and make sure that the quick coupler was latched on the bucket good, and tossed it in to the cab. We had to straighten and repair this section.
