Another cast aluminum repair on an old Ford manifold and a few mild steel cracks/support backstrap repair on an airplane oil reservoir tank heads out the door!

Figured with the age and how dirty this aluminum was it would present a challenge, however it actually welded excellent to be cast.

The oil reservoir was a different story. Although just mild steel, due to how thin and oil soaked the base metal was the tank did present a small challenge. However the cracks were repaired and will be heading back up!

Today we downed the shop for maintenance— Cleaning, organization, inventory, etc. We received a message if we could squeeze in a quick repair on a pit bike muffler.

For a repair of such, TIG is preferred however due to time constraints, the repair was performed with MIG. Exhaust pipe was fitted back into the muffler and the frame mounting area was repaired.

A call was received yesterday evening from an out-of-town Hatfield McCoy Trails rider for an emergency repair on this Jeep after the leaf spring hanger had broken on the trails leaving them essentially stranded. Fortunately they were able to limp it to our shop for a late evening repair.

Touching bases with a welding shop in our area after normal business hours is nearly impossible, however our phone stays on 24/7. As of 9:30PM we were able to get them back to enjoying vacation!
