Who says the Grinch can't have fun? Our employees enjoyed hanging out with the Grinch all day yesterday during our "Celebrate Our Favorite Christmas Grump" day. Congratulations to Brandon who won 4 tickets to the Walleye Game - even the Grinch gives out fun prizes!!

Last week we brought our Managers together from all locations for 'Leadership 2024' to continue to develop our team. This year's training was focused on Brainstorming, Innovating and Deciding. We know it is through more innovative thinking that we will be able to continuously provide our customers and employees with the best!!!

After day-long training, focused on Innovation in meeting workplace challenges facing Leadership now and in the future, the team had a chance to bond over dinner. It was a great opportunity to interact face to face with those team members we don't work with everyday.

Day #2 brought a fun challenge! Training is never of value unless you can transfer it back into the workplace and who says you can't have fun at the same time. Fun it was!!! If you are going to train on INNOVATION, you better make it INNOVATIVE! Each team was given limited supplies and then challenged to INNOVATE a winning boat made of corrugated that would float the longest!. Each team meet the challenge, which resulted in 6 laps around the pool until we had a tie for a winner. But DDI is committed to being #1 and so are our team members said - a tie would never work! Thus, we had a final 'float off' before we declared the final winners.

As we move forward, Dynamic Dies is committed to being innovative to meet the challenges of the future and continue to be #1.

All ready to ‘be in the dark’ at Dynamic Dies in celebration of THE big event!! No more countdowns…we are ready to have some fun! Solar Glasses, moon pies, milky ways, starburst, sun chips & of course…. Eclipse gum!!!

We’ve had one fun-filled festivity after the next, since being recognized as a 2024 Top Workplace! 🏆

🌟 On Friday (1/26) we were able to announce to our employees that we received the award, before it was publicly posted in the Toledo Blade. Given that we would not have received this recognition without their feedback, we wanted to make sure they knew, “We Donut Know What We Would Do, Without Top Employees Like You!” with sweet treats enjoyed by all throughout the day!

🌟 On Wednesday (1/31) the day began with our Senior Leadership handing out our custom-made DDI/Top Workplace sweatshirts to employees throughout the plant, along with a photobooth set up for employees to take celebratory photos. To “top off” our Top Workplace celebrations, we ended with a delicious taco bar for lunch!

We are grateful for not only being named a 2024 Top Workplace, but having opportunities such as these to give back to our employees that make us who we are!

The Grinch has arrived at Dynamic Dies!!! While he hate, hate, hates Christmas… the HR Dept convinced him to join in the fun. So Grinch brought gifts!!! They may be nice gifts ($$$ gift cards) or naught gifts. If you’re caught with the Grinch in your work area any time today by HR …. You just might get a Christmas Surprise!!!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our great colleague and friend, Ben Hazard. He helped DDI grow in so many ways and will be sorely missed. Ben joined Dynamic Dies in 2012 as Cutting Die Process Coordinator. He went on to be promoted to Divisional Manager of Cutting Dies and in his last role he was Product Improvement Manager. He truly exemplified the family culture DDI was built on. He always had time to talk and was always willing to share with everyone the knowledge he had within the industry.

Last month Ben was honored by International Association of Diecutting/Diemaking (IADD) with the Presidential Award, awarded for exceptional leadership, support of IADD and its programs, and for making significant contributions to the association and industry. Ben was not only a giving person at DDI and within the industry, he also gave back to his community. For numerous years, Ben volunteered as a Youth Football Coach for Little League football, helping to guide the youth into a positive lifestyle.

The impact Ben had on so many peoples’ life was evident at the Fundraiser event held in his honor just a week before he passed. The event was packed with streams of people that Ben had impacted during his life, as they came to give Ben one last and deserving show of appreciation for all he did over his lifetime. We keep Ben’s family in our thoughts and prayers as they deal with this loss.

Our latest employee, Jack, was hired today (Halloween) and already has learned a variety of jobs. He started his day in Human Resources where he filed out his new hire paperwork then onto the shop floor for on-the-job training. He worked with the guys in CAD before moving on and learning to rubber in the die shop. Jack moved over to the Mounting Dept where he learned the basics before stopping by Customer Service for a bit. Everyone loved Jack and glad we hired him . . . just one problem . . . Jack decided he only wants to work on Halloween. See you next year Jack!!!
