How to Apply for Civil Service Exams
Through DCASâ Online Application System (OASys), you can apply for and take certain exams online. This can be done on a computer and now also by using a smartphone or tablet. To apply in-person at one of our Computer-based Testing and Application Centers, schedule an appointment on OASys.
Testing Centers are open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., excluding holidays.

Our testing centers are in every borough, so you can find a testing center near you.

New York City Summer Internship Program (SIP)
The City of New York Summer Internship Program provides over 100 accessible summer intern job postings at city agencies to college students currently enrolled, graduating, and recent graduates.
In addition to gaining experience working for the City of New York, SIP interns are also offered opportunities for professional development, training, as well as guidance on civil service employment. Most positions are paid while some can be for academic credit for individuals accepted into the program.

New York City Law Department Internship
The New York City Law Department has employment opportunities for current law students both during and after law school. Programs include Summer Externships, Summer Honors Internships, and paid school-year positions. Visit the Law Departmentâs website for more information.
NYC Parks Ranger Conservation Corps
The Ranger Conservation Corps is an internship program for high school students who are interested in the natural world or environmental issues. Interns work with Urban Park Rangers on environmental restoration in natural areas in New York Cityâs flagship parks. RCC Interns receive community service hours and may go on exciting field trips including canoeing, overnight camping and more. Internships take place one afternoon a week over an eight-week session in the fall or spring. Session dates are flexible, and registration is on a rolling basis year-round.

New York City Public Service Corps (PSC)
The New York City Public Service Corps (PSC) is the nation's first and largest off-campus internship program for college students and offers paid federal work-study internships as well as placements in which students can work for academic credit. Learn more about the PSC on DCAS internship webpage.
