City of Hollister .. your in for a big surprise. This is just ridiculous. City Council approved a 400% increase on fees. - your little Kitchen remodel will now cost almost $10,000 for a permit.- oh and the city is giving 55% of our taxpayer money to 4Leaf (an outside company) prior to re-negotiating to run the building/planning department. They were advised by an outside company to increase the fee over a series of years at 100% per year. Council went for increasing it 400%. This is understandable for all the new development.. but they are not looking at the small projects, remodels, additions, patios, pergolas, ect. They did not analyze any surrounding counties, their fee structure or impact on small projects.
