What happens to a coating when the heat goes up? 🔥

Service temperature is often the first question in choosing a coating, and the answer depends on the material type:

▪️ Partially fluorinated (ETFE, ECTFE, PVDF): up to 300°F. These also work well as electrical insulators and offer abrasion and chemical resistance.
▪️ FEP: up to 400°F
▪️ PTFE and PFA: up to 500°F

Between those ranges, self-priming thin coats can fill the gap, adding insulation, chemical resistance, and abrasion resistance alongside the temperature tolerance.

In real applications, heat doesn't always act alone. It often shows up with chemical exposure and abrasion, and that combination usually drives the material choice.
