Flow drops on a treatment system. What do you check first?

If it were up to us, we'd check the pressure gauge on the filter housing first. A difference of more than 10 to 15 psi usually points to loaded bag filters or media, which we can handle on site.

If the gauges look normal, we move on to trapped air, a worn pump, a valve that never got fully opened, or low volume in the influent tank.

Low flow is only one chapter. Our troubleshooting guide also breaks down bag filters that clog in under two hours and contaminants slipping into discharge samples, with the warning signs and field fixes for each.

Not every project needs a brand-new blower to hit the flow rate it's built for.

We have a Roots RAM 412 vacuum blower skid up in our online store, pulled from service and stored indoors ever since. It is rated up to 1,199 CFM on a 75 HP WEG motor, with 6-inch ports and an integrated silencer, built for SVE, air sparge, or other vapor-phase work that needs the CFM to back it up.

This is one piece of our used remediation equipment inventory, sourced from decommissioned systems and available for nationwide shipping or local pickup in Holly, Michigan.

A closed landfill in Waterford, Michigan required its leachate treatment system to run at full strength before discharge to the Great Lakes Water Authority. Global stepped in to run routine O&M after treatment output fell well short of the system's built-in capacity.

The treatment train runs bag filtration through three 150-pound carbon vessels before a resin vessel gives PFAS one final polish. From there, the team refined backwash procedures and tightened up the carbon changeout schedule.

Global also installed an automated-fill clean-water tank to improve backwash efficiency and stretch the life of the carbon, completed a full-line cleanout, added a backup pump for redundancy, and worked through control panel repairs, down to the fuses and hour meters.

Six months later, flow had climbed from 2.5 to 7.5 gallons per minute, tripling throughput, and the system settled into smooth, consistent on/off cycles.

Everyone at Global Environmental knows Marnie as a team member who is always ready to help and keeps us all on track. Bulk GAC does not move on its own, so we built a system that makes it look easy...ish.

Whether media is heading into a vessel or coming out of one, a telehandler-mounted hopper controls the flow while the crew guides each supersack into place by hand.
It is heavy work, and it is what keeps a system's discharge within permit limits instead of raising questions later.

Compliance doesn't happen on its own. Someone has to check on it, log it, and catch problems before they turn into bigger ones.

Our field crews, OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER-certified, handle startup and commissioning support, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting for flow, pressure, and performance issues, with documentation that holds up for inspections and closeout. For clients running ongoing O&M programs, that includes day-to-day operation by our state-certified operators.

Good design shows up in how easy a system is to monitor, not in how it looks on paper.

Every system starts with real data: flow requirements, site conditions, and discharge criteria, sometimes backed by treatability testing to right-size it before fabrication ever starts. From there, gauges, sample ports, and remote monitoring get placed where a technician actually needs them, not just where they fit.

We design, fabricate, and install these systems in-house. It shows up in how easy they are to read once they're live in the field, keeping NPDES compliance and daily monitoring from turning into a scavenger hunt.
