Hawaiʻi Gas supports Yes on 1. This election, Oʻahu voters will have an opportunity to vote YES on Question No. 1, a Charter Amendment that would establish dedicated funding for a Food Security Fund. The proposed fund would help increase access to Hawaiʻi-grown and produced food for residents experiencing food insecurity while strengthening our local food system and making Oʻahu more resilient.
And importantly: It does not create a new tax or require a simultaneous increase in property tax rates.
This is our opportunity to have a voice in how a portion of existing City revenues are invested in our community, not just for the next few years, but for the future.
