ENCON Evaporator Vaporizes Plating Wastewater

ENCON Service Engineers recently commissioned a 400 gallon per hour ENCON N33V4-400 thermal evaporator at a greenfield electronics manufacturing facility. This evaporator will evaporate wastewater generated by a zirconium phosphate plating line. The ENCON evaporator will handle both acid and alkaline rinse waters greatly reducing the clients hauling costs. The ENCON Evaporator was selected by the client’s phosphating line supplier.

ENCON Evaporator Cleans up at a Train Station

ENCON Service Engineers recently commissioned a 260 gallon per hour ENCON N66AB4-260XH thermal evaporator at a large railroad maintenance facility for a major railroad. This evaporator replaced a competitive evaporator that this customer had in service. The ENCON design allowed for larger capacity and utilized proprietary design modifications that allow for greatly improved operation in foaming conditions. In addition to the improved operation, the evaporator reduced the clients wastewater by 97% greatly reducing disposal costs.

Growing Manufacturer Installs Third ENCON Evaporator.

ENCON Service Engineers recently commissioned a 260 gallon per hour ENCON N33V4-260 thermal evaporator at large manufacturer of life science products. This is the 3rd evaporator that this customer has purchased from ENCON. The evaporator system will concentrate the rinse and wash water from a phosphating line by 87%, greatly reducing wastewater hauling costs.

Tank wash water evaporator installed at greenfield seed production facility.

ENCON Service engineers recently commissioned an 18 gallon per hour ENCON N33V4-18 thermal evaporator at a greenfield manufacturing facility that produces seeds for agricultural use.

The evaporator system will concentrate the wastewater generated from washing and rinsing process tanks. The wastewater evaporation process will reduce the wastewater volume by 98% resulting in a concentrate for final disposal.

ENCON service engineers just commissioned a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) system for an amusement theme park treating wastewater generated from a seawater aquarium. ZLD system consisted of an ENCON P66V4-18 propane fired thermal evaporator followed by ENCON DE4-ADD drum dryer.

The evaporator system will concentrate the cannabis fertigation wastewater into a concentrate for final disposal reducing the final volume of wastewater by 85%.

ENCON Service engineers recently commissioned a 126 gallon per hour ENCON N66V4-126 thermal evaporator at the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) West Jordan facility. The evaporator system will concentrate salty truck wash water into brine that can applied to roads for de-icing. This saves money by eliminating hauling costs of $0.45/gallon as well as reducing the amount of salt needed to buy to make fresh brine for road application.

UDOT purchased 5 ENCON Evaporator systems for this project.

ENCON Launches ENCON-Link Remote monitoring software for wastewater evaporators

ENCON service engineers just commissioned the 1st client application of the ENCON-Link Remote Monitoring Software. ENCON-Link will allow clients to monitor the status and operation of the evaporator from anywhere in the world.

ENCON-Link will send alarm notifications to operators and management allowing hands off operation of the evaporator increasing uptime of the evaporator and freeing up the evaporator operator for other tasks in the facility.

INSTALLATION HAS BEGUN FOR NEW ENCON FORCED CIRCULATION EVAPORATOR AT BIO-PLASTICS PLANT!

ENCON Evaporators’ newest forced circulation evaporator is in process of being installed at the client site in eastern Canada. This is a brine processing evaporation application with an evaporation capacity of 1800 gallons per hour. The evaporator is part of a large greenfield industrial manufacturing facility construction, which is due to start up in 1st quarter of 2023 producing carbon negative plastic.

The evaporator was designed and fabricated to be installed and operated outdoors in a hazardous classified area (Zone 1, Division 2). Extensive engineering and design was required to meet the hazardous area classification and outdoor installation in the harsh Canadian climate. In addition, the brine is extremely corrosive and required use of exotic alloys of construction (grade 7 titanium) for corrosion resistance.

Application details: The forced circulation evaporator will be concentrating calcium chloride brine from 30 to 53 wt% concentration. The dilute brine is created by a new chemical process that allows plastic water bottles to be made from waste wood and agricultural products instead of using oil to create the plastic polymer. The brine concentrator allows the dilute brine to be re-used in the manufacturing process, eliminating costly disposal, and providing savings on make-up chemical costs.

ENCON service engineers just commissioned an electrically powered ENCON 24 GPH Thermal Evaporator at the Navistar facility in Huntsville, AL which generates wastewater from an engine and transmission manufacturing process. In addition to the evaporator, client also purchased several complimentary accessories – feed pump, residue pump, antifoam injection skid and custom residue tank level switches to make the wastewater evaporator application turnkey, easy to install and successful right out the gate.

Navistar will be reducing their wastewater volume from 63,000 gallons to 2,500 gallons per year (96%), substantially reducing their annual wastewater disposal costs and ensuring a quick payback for the project! In addition to the cost savings, by eliminating 15 tanker truck loads of wastewater per year, the facility is reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with trucking!
