Sixty-three years ago yesterday, four girls got ready for Sunday morning at 16th Street Baptist Church and never made it home.

Addie Mae Collins. Denise McNair. Carole Robertson. Cynthia Wesley.

On September 15, 2026, the church opened the doors of its new Education and Visitor Center, built on the same block where that history happened, and built to make sure it is never reduced to a footnote.

We had the privilege of serving as the general contractor on this project, working alongside CCR Architecture & Interiors and the leadership of 16th Street Baptist Church. The 13,000-square-foot facility includes meeting rooms, event space, a commercial kitchen, and a café, giving the church room to welcome visitors, scholars, and students from around the world without pausing the life of the congregation.

We build a lot of things. We do not often get to build something that carries this much weight. Thank you to Rev. Arthur Price Jr. and the entire church family for trusting us with it.

To the community: go visit. Walk the block. Ask what this history requires of you today.

🇺🇸 250 years of America. Built by hand, built with pride.
From the first nail driven in 1776 to the steel rising across Birmingham today — this country was built by builders.
On this 250th Fourth of July, we're proud to carry that legacy forward. Happy Independence Day from all of us at WatsonBruhn Builders and thank you to all of those who fought to preserve the freedom we enjoy today.

WatsonBruhn Builders has begun construction on the $25 million Longleaf Lodge recovery campus in Shelby County, a 60-bed behavioral health facility that developers say will become the county's first inpatient treatment center for substance use disorders.

The $25 million campus, developed by Longleaf Recovery & Wellness, is being built on a 150-acre site near Sterrett, about 45 minutes southeast of Birmingham. Site work is underway, with vertical construction expected to begin in July and completion scheduled for mid-2027.

🎉 We're celebrating 15 years in business!

When WatsonBruhn Builders started back in 2011, the goal was simple: build quality projects and treat every client, subcontractor, and partner the way we'd want to be treated. Fifteen years later, that hasn't changed.

None of this happens without the people who trusted us with their projects and the talented crews and partners who brought them to life. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Here's to the next 15 years and to everything we'll build together. 🔨

Today we’d like to highlight the award-winning TA Services Office Building in downtown Leeds, Alabama.

This 15,000-square-foot office building was designed to honor the character and history of the area while helping support the continued revitalization of Leeds' downtown district. One of the project's most unique features is the use of reclaimed brick from the historic hardware store that once occupied the site, preserving a piece of the community's story for future generations.

Overlooking the railroad tracks that helped shape Leeds' history, this project blends modern functionality with timeless architectural character. We're grateful to the entire project team and TA Services for the opportunity to bring this vision to life.

For the past 10 years, Eugene has been a valued part of our team, bringing dedication, steady leadership, and a strong work ethic to everything he did. His contributions have made a lasting impact on WatsonBruhn, our clients, and the people around him.

Eugene, thank you for your decade of commitment and excellence. We wish you nothing but the best in this next chapter — may it be filled with March Madness buzzer beaters, relaxation, and plenty of well-deserved enjoyment!

The Difference Between an Average Contractor and a GREAT Contractor?

Not tools. Not software. Not luck.

It is PEOPLE.

We’re scaling our operation — and we’re looking for A-players to join us.

If you:
• Run toward problems instead of away from them
• Take ownership without being asked
• Want to grow into leadership
• Care about schedule, quality, and margin

Then we should talk.

This is an opportunity to step into a company that’s growing intentionally and building a culture of excellence.

Message me directly if you’re interested or tag someone who should see this.
