In this episode of Hamel on the Water, Brad meets up with Richard from Williamson Boat Docks to look at a traditional floating dock that’s ready for repair — and a new way to rebuild it using Owens Corning structural lumber.
Unlike standard pressure-treated lumber, Owens Corning Lumber uses a PVC core with fiberglass reinforcement and is designed for long-term performance in demanding waterfront applications. For dock builders, the big advantage is simple: it matches traditional dimensional lumber sizing, which can mean less fabrication, less welding, and a faster retrofit.
Brad calls it a game changer for floating docks — and after seeing the install, it’s easy to understand why.
