Hidradenitis Suppurativa:

Small lumps near hair follicle and sweat gland areas (under arms, inner thighs, and other uncomfortable places) that are commonly mistaken for acne and sores.

These seemingly small lumps can develop into large abscesses that drain and cause pain with even simple daily tasks. Something as simple as sweating or wearing a tight shirt can cause a flare in symptoms.

Affects on average around 2% of the population with the majority being African American women.

Without treatment, this can be a lifelong inflammatory condition. Currently there is no cure and only a handful of approved treatment options to lessen symptoms.
