As Corpus Christi continues to grow as a major energy hub, coordination among government, infrastructure, energy, and regional development leaders remains essential.

DCCM served as a Silver Sponsor of the 9th Annual State of Energy Corpus Christi event, presented by Energy Network Media Group. Discussions explored the issues shaping the region’s future, including water resources, port expansion, energy infrastructure, and the increasing demands of the AI economy.

Representing the DCCM South Texas team were President D. Scott Jones, PE; Director of Business Development Randy Almaguer; Senior Project Manager Stephen Grunewald, PE; and Director of Survey Tim Johnson.

From Nashville, Tennessee, this project highlights how precise survey support can help advance community-focused facilities that provide housing, recovery services, and long-term support.

DCCM’s Nashville survey team provided construction staking services for Phase II of the Shelby House Samaritan Recovery Center. The broader campus supports individuals transitioning out of homelessness and those overcoming substance abuse through affordable housing, residential treatment, outpatient services, and supportive programs focused on long-term stability.

During Phase II, construction took place while the Samaritan Recovery Community remained fully operational. The expansion helped meet growing demand, doubled the organization’s capacity to serve the community, and added much-needed affordable housing in downtown Nashville.

Preparedness is most effective when it begins well before the emergency. In recognition of National Preparedness Month, our latest article shares five practical actions to strengthen readiness, along with helpful resources for creating an emergency plan, building a kit, and preparing a business for disruption. It also explores how resilient infrastructure and thoughtful planning help communities reduce risk and recover more effectively.

From Intern to Architect: Seizing Opportunities at DCCM

Behind every growing career are the people, projects, and opportunities that help shape it. For Alexis Rogge, her journey at DCCM has been defined by all three. What began as an internship during the final semester of graduate school has grown into a career spanning justice, public safety, civic, and aquatic projects. Along the way, Alexis has been trusted with new responsibilities, challenged to learn unfamiliar project types, and supported by mentors who have helped her build both technical knowledge and confidence.

Our latest article highlights Alexis’s journey from intern to Architectural Graduate and explores how mentorship, collaboration, and a willingness to embrace new opportunities have helped her grow into the architect she’s becoming.
