Hot take:

A $3,000 CRM setup that nobody maintains is worth less than a $300 Google Sheet with a human who checks it daily.

I'll stand behind this.

The most sophisticated automation in the world doesn't generate revenue if nobody audits it.

I've seen:
→ $40K/month businesses running on dead automations for 8 months

Most GHL builds I audit have the same problem.

They were built for setup. Not for revenue.

After reviewing hundreds of GoHighLevel accounts — here's what I find most often:

A) Automations that haven't been touched since the original setup

B) Pipeline stages that are too vague to create accountability ("Interested," "Follow Up," "Maybe")

C) No re-engagement sequence for leads that went cold after day 7

D) Post-sale sequence that doesn't exist — the system stops when the payment processes

E) All of the above

The LinkedIn gurus won't tell you this about email deliverability.

It's the unsexy fix that unlocks everything else.

You can have the best follow-up sequence in your industry.
Perfect copy. Right timing. Smart segmentation.

If your domain isn't authenticated, half those emails land in spam.

And you'll never know — because your open rate dashboard won't tell you the difference between "delivered and ignored" and "never arrived."

Three things to check right now:

1. SPF record — tells email servers you're authorized to send from your domain. If missing, your emails are unverified strangers.

2. DKIM — a digital signature that proves the email wasn't tampered with in transit. Without it, spam filters distrust you.

3. DMARC — the policy that tells servers what to do when SPF or DKIM fails. Without it, spoofed emails can piggyback your domain reputation.

If any are missing — fix those before your next campaign. Before the next automation. Before anything else.

I lost a $4,800 project because I built exactly what the client asked for.

Here's the lesson that changed how I work.

The brief was clear: "Just set up our GoHighLevel. Basic stuff."

I delivered it. On time. Under budget. Clean build.

Six weeks later: "The system isn't working. We're not getting results."

I went back in and pulled the data.

Leads were entering.
Automations were firing.
Pipeline was organized.

But 58% of leads were hitting a dead end on day 5.
No re-engagement. No escalation. No second sequence.

The client asked for a setup.
What they needed was a revenue architecture.

That was a $4,800 project.
Rebuilt properly, it became a $12K engagement — because I learned to ask a different question first.

Not: "What do you want built?"

But: "What does success look like in 90 days, and what has to happen in the system for that to be true?"
