We’re excited to congratulate Turner Construction Company, Perkins&Will, and the University of Houston on the new University of Houston RAD Center, recently recognized by Engineering News-Record Texas & Louisiana with an Award of Merit for Excellence in Sustainability.

Constructed with mass timber, the RAD Center brings together dining, retail, and gathering spaces in a design that emphasizes warmth, light, and material honesty. ROOMI GROUP CORPORATION is proud to have been part of a project that continues to inspire sustainable design across higher education.

We’re honored to share that ROOMI GROUP CORPORATION has received the 2025 Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI) Standard of Excellence Award in the Corporate Interiors category for our work on the RWE Clean Energy headquarters at Centro Austin.

The 69,000-square-foot space, designed by Abel Design Group and built by Harvey Cleary, reflects RWE’s commitment to sustainability and transparency through natural materials, biophilic design, and progressive workplace planning.

ROOMI’s scope included extensive custom millwork in American White Oak, highlighted by a complex floating staircase connecting the two floors. The structure required over 15,000 man-hours and nearly 7,000 square feet of veneer, shaped into continuous compound curves with less than seven percent straight panels. Additional elements included curved seating, custom furniture, and metal detailing developed to complement the overall palette.

This achievement reflects the dedication and precision of everyone involved in bringing this project to life. Special thanks to Abel Design Group, Harvey Cleary, and the RWE team for their partnership throughout the process.
