Meet Our President: Jimmy Howard

Jimmy Howard received a degree in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1982. For 8 years afterwards he was a Track & Field athlete and competed for the USA in two Olympic Teams. He also worked as an Engineer for Anheuser-Busch in Houston, TX for 4 years. In 1991 he became a filter & pump salesman for a local distributor. In 1996 he started Champion Process, Inc..

For the first few years Champion was a typical industrial distributor who sold filters and pumps. But, in 2000, Champion moved more into pipeline filtration and began working with clients who faced growing challenges in meeting mandates associated with pipeline integrity. A few years later Champion received a patent for the first pipeline filter used with pig launchers & receivers. This led to Champion's creation of the 80" pipeline filter and later the pipeline coalescer. These pipeline filters remain a standard in the industry today.

Today, Jimmy remains active with Texas A&M University and is a member of the Texas Aggie Champions Council. He enjoys spending much of his free time in Galveston, TX. But, his number one hobby is designing new and improving existing products for Champion Process. Of course that doesn't classify as a hobby, but when you enjoy what you do, what's the difference?
