Spring leaves a lot behind in Houston 🌿
Oak pollen, rain, leaves, catkins, damp mornings, and that yellow film that somehow ends up on everything 🤧🌧 If you know, you know.
Some of it rinses away on its own, but a lot of it doesn’t.
And before you know it, the siding looks dull, the windows look cloudy, the gutters are holding who-knows-what, and the driveway has that "when did this get so dark?" look.
If you're planning to tackle the outside of your home, the order matters more than people think. Start too low, and dirty water can run right over the areas you just finished.
Save yourself the second pass and work from the top down:
🔵 Gutters and downspouts first, so the next rain has somewhere to go
🔵 Siding and eaves next, where pollen and grime tend to stick around
🔵 Windows after that, once the siding has been rinsed
🔵 Driveways and walkways near the end, where concrete holds onto tire marks, algae, dirt, pollen, and hard water stains
🔵 Decks and fences last, with a lighter touch on the wood and time to dry before any resealing
Not exactly glamorous, but it saves you a second pass ✨
