I’ve reactivated this page to share some sad news about an employee and friend.

I just heard from his brother that Keith Keylor died of natural causes on October 14, 2022.

He was a kind friend and diligent hardworking employee for many years. We mourn his passing and pray for his family.

After 59 years, Houston’s oldest independent, family-owned, reinforcing bar fabricator will be closing at the end of the month. In 1961, Clayton Underwood and his business partner Billy Wingate purchased Confederate Steel Corporation, which was previously The Lofland Company.
It was later renamed to CSC Rebar.
Clayton was adept at sales and Billy at finance. They were an efficient and hardworking team. Clayton worked until his passing in 2008. Billy worked until his passing in 2014. Billy’s widow Linda took over and quickly realized what hard work they had accomplished for so many years. We want to thank our loyal customers as well as our past and present employees. We couldn’t have done it without you.
