The United States is going back to Mars, and the powerful Atlas V rocket that will launch NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Perseverance rover to the red planet has been assembled for liftoff on July 20.

A manufacturer of precision machined parts for Oil & Gas and Aerospace industries in Hobby Airport area (Beltway 8 & Telephone Road) is seeking well-rounded experienced Manual Mill/Lathe Machinists. Positions available for both 1st/day and 2nd/night shift.

Pay rate is commensurate based on experience

Job Summary:

Set-up & operate Manual Mill/Lathe Machines accurately, safely and efficiently according to blue prints & specifications to produce close-tolerance, high-precision machined parts.

Requirements:

• At least 10-15 years related experience using manual machining equipment (Mill, Lathe, TrakMill) preferably in oil/ aerospace industry.
• Ability to setup, operate and select proper tools and speeds for the machine process.
• Ability to perform inspection of machined parts using scales, micrometers and calipers.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret working drawings, blueprints, technical specifications and machining parameters.
• Make proper labor & time report.
• Must be able to follow quality requirements and other written procedures to ensure a high level of quality in machined parts.
• Ability to maintain equipment/machine by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
• Have effective communication skills both written & verbal.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.

We currently have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced CNC Programmer/ Machinist who has experience in working with machines CNC lathes and Mills. Candidate should also have extensive knowledge in 3D Programming/ Solidworks Software.

Job Summary:

Applies knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, engineering drawings, material properties, layout, and machining procedures to program, set-up and operate CNC Machining Centers accurately, safely and efficiently according to blue prints & specifications to produce close-tolerance, high-precision machined parts.

Requirements:

• At least 8 years’ experience in Programming, Set-up and Operating CNC machining center.
• Proficient in CAD/CAM software used in conjunction with 5-axis machining with live-tooling (Mastercam preferred).
• Ability to create accurate computer generated 3D models and drawings for all new Fixtures, Parts, and Assemblies using 3D Modelling Software (Solidworks preferred).

• Proficiency in Mastercam is a plus.
• Ability to set tools and fixture parts for machining, and adjust speeds and feeds
• Must be able to work with small & medium precision parts to very close tolerances
• Ability to perform inspection of machined parts using scales, micrometers and calipers, height gauges.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex blueprints, technical specifications and machining parameters.
• Must follow quality requirements and other written procedures to ensure a high level of quality in machined parts.
• Ability to maintain equipment/machine by completing preventive maintenance requirements and following manufacturer's instructions.
• Have effective written & verbal communication skills
• Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
