Most solar panels manufacturers reinforce their solar panels with a 25-30 year malfunction and production assurance that guarantees no less than 80-90% production by the end of the warranty.
Solar panels can last closer to 40 years before falling below considerable production levels if they are occasionally maintained.
The same as most equipment, solar panels lose all of their value long before they stop producing for the reason that technology evolves and the aesthetics begin to be faded and unpleasant.
A lot of people are worried about what happens to solar panels once they are no longer useful. Some people question whether solar panels help the environment since the material can become hazardous to the water in landfills. Are they be recycled? Will they become hazardous in landfills? Where do they go and what happens to solar panels at the end of their lifetime?
