DSI is pleased to report the successful extraction and recovery of IBM Content Manager for iSeries documents and metadata. The data was stored on optical discs written with IBM’s High-Performance Optical File System (HPOFS). The client, an independent oil and gas exploration and production company were not able to access the data because of the damaged media.

IBM Content Manager Series (HPOFS) data recovery involved extracting 80GB of data from 34 media platters that clients were not able to extract.

Humanity is currently going through a harsh time due to the ongoing Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and its impact on the global economy. As a result of this, Data Strategies Interchange (DSI) wants to take a moment and remind their clients, partners, friends, and family to take the utmost precautions.

To help fight the global pandemic, DSI is actively contributing to the community by collaborating with Sewa International USA - Houston, a nonprofit service organization that specializes in disaster relief and rehabilitation. Our President, Mr. Yash Havalimane , has been volunteering enthusiastically in Food Drive events and managing the AmeriCorps Program established by Sewa International in Houston, Texas.

In light of COVID-19, many employees are now working from home that leads to the following scenarios creating an ideal situation for companies to migrate their data from the legacy system to the desired format:

• High demand in electronic data that is readily accessible to employees from home.
• Limited usage of data that needs conversion.
• More technical resources.
