Today, we remember the men and women who gave everything in service to our country.

Their sacrifice and bravery will never be forgotten, and we are honored to work alongside veterans who share that same love of country every day.

A vision 20 years in the making now officially opened to the Abilene community! 🎉

This past weekend, the City of Abilene celebrated the Grand Opening of Abilene Heritage Square, a 144,000-square-foot, 9-acre campus that transforms the former Abilene High School and Lincoln Middle School into a new public library and mixed-used community events center.

Linbeck has been honored to bring this multi-building campus to life. Our team renovated and restored four historic buildings, including a 102-year-old academic building, a 1929 gymnasium, a 1950s classroom building, and a 1974 gymnasium, while integrating new construction and carefully preserving the original facades that have stood at the heart of Abilene for generations.

A century later, Abilene Heritage Square is a vibrant community hub built for the next generation, including:
• The new 37,000 SF Abilene Public Library
• SPARK Museum and Innovation Park, The Grace Museum's STEM and discovery center
• The 700-seat Owen Hall Auditorium and Performance Hall
• Community Event Center and home to the Stone Owl Institute and Friends of the Abilene Public Library

We are proud of what was built here, and grateful to Abilene Heritage Square Foundation, the City of Abilene, Texas, Grace Design Studios, and The Projects Group for the trust and partnership, along with every donor, volunteer, and resident who helped make this dream real.

It’s official! The National Medal of Honor Museum is one of the best museums in the world.

Just this week, the Prix Versailles inducted the National Medal of Honor Museum to their World’s Most Beautiful Museums List 2026. This year’s winning class of projects totals just seven institutions from across the world. The National Medal of Honor Museum is the only one representing the Western Hemisphere.

We are beyond humbled to have taken part in building this special museum and are in awe of the ways it continues to engage, inspire, and unite our community.

“From the first foundation to the final finishes, every member of our team understood that we were doing more than just constructing a building; we were providing a home where the stories of the courage and sacrifice of America's most cherished heroes will live on for generations," said Tommy Cole, President at Linbeck. "To see that work recognized by Prix Versailles is a profound honor, and a testament to the extraordinary collaboration between the Museum, Rafael Viñoly Architects, and every craftsman who brought this vision to life."

The Linbeck team gathered in North Texas for our 2026 Annual Meeting to kick off the year: two days devoted to celebrating the projects, people, and progress that make Linbeck the innovative place it is. 🎉 🏗️🏆

Things kicked off with our Friday Night Social and Awards Ceremony at the National Medal of Honor Museum, where four employees received awards for their commitments to community, safety, empowerment, and overall excellence, as voted on by their peers.

That same evening, we were also thrilled to induct three new employees into our esteemed 25-Year Club and honor two retirees who have given so much to this company over the years.

Saturday brought everyone together for a morning that was equal parts informative and energizing. We celebrated 12 active and recently completed projects, welcomed new employees who joined within the past year, and heard inspiring remarks from Captain Flo Groberg, United States Army Retired & Medal of Honor Recipient.

This year’s Annual Meeting was certainly one for the books! Shoutout to our Annual Meeting Committee Leaders who helped bring it all together.

From the East Coast to the West Coast, our Linbeck team joined industry leaders to share their experiences and what it takes to build complex cultural projects.

While Becky Burleson was representing Linbeck at the Building Museums™ Symposium in Baltimore, Trae Compton was on the other side of the country speaking at the USITT Annual Conference in Long Beach.

Becky joined a panel with Rafael Viñoly Architects to discuss real challenges in museum construction, including budget, schedule, fundraising, and the power of CMAR delivery to bring ambitious cultural institutions to life. Meanwhile, Trae took the stage with Dave Vieira with Design Group, Rachel Harrah with Harrah LLC, and Dan Clevenger with DLR Group for a session titled "Bridging Theatre and Construction," exploring how professionals with backgrounds in both theatre and the AEC industry collaborate to turn creative visions into reality.

Different cities, different audiences, both representing the depth of expertise Linbeck brings to cultural and performing arts projects across the country.

Thank you to the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) and USITT for having our team. We are grateful to be part of these conversations.

Last year was filled with exciting project completions for Linbeck. And we are thrilled to announce that THREE key projects recently received national recognition by the Associated General Contractors of America!

The National Medal of Honor Museum, Mood-Bridwell Hall at Southwestern University, and the new City Council Chamber for the City of Fort Worth all received a 2026 Build America Award, winning first place in their respective categories for excellence in construction management.

We are beyond excited for this recognition and are incredibly proud of our project teams, who heard our clients’ visions and worked tirelessly to bring them to life. Your efforts helped realize three very different, very complex, very impactful projects.

To the NMOHM, Southwestern University, and the City of Fort Worth: thank you for entrusting us with your projects. We look forward to seeing how each of them continues to impact the community!

Linbeck's own Trae Compton is heading to Long Beach this week!

Trae is joining fellow AEC industry leaders at the USITT Annual Conference in Long Beach Friday, March 20th at 3:30 PM, Room 102C ARC.

The session, "Bridging Theatre and Construction", is one we think will resonate well beyond the conference room. Speaking alongside Dave Vieira with Passerelle Design Group, Rachel Harrah with Harrah LLC, and Dan Clevenger with DLR Group, the group will dig into how professionals with roots in both theatre and the AEC industry navigate the intricacies of turning a creative vision into a built reality.

Trae's background in complex cultural projects like Brockman Hall for Opera and the Sarasota Orchestra Music Center has given him a genuine appreciation for this intersection, and he's looking forward to being part of this conversation.

If you're at USITT tomorrow, come find them in Room 102C ARC!

Another year, another successful Clay Shooting Tournament!

On a bright, sunny morning in February, Linbeck headed to the Greater Houston Sports Club for our 4th Annual Clay Shooting Tournament, benefiting the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston. And yet again, the teams came out in full force, ready to impress and take home the trophy (among other fun prizes).

Becky Burleson is heading to Baltimore! 🏛️

Our VP & Senior Client Executive holds a BS and MS in Civil Engineering and a PhD in Civil Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin — and before joining Linbeck, she put that knowledge to work as a Civil Engineering Professor at Auburn University. As a 25-year Linbeck veteran, she has brought that same depth of knowledge and expertise to the construction of some of the most complex projects in the country.

It's exactly why Rafael Viñoly Architects invited her to represent Linbeck as a featured panelist at the Mid-Atlantic Association of Museums (MAAM) Building Museums™ Symposium (March 11–13, 2026), where she'll speak to the real challenges of museum construction: budgets, schedules, fundraising timelines, and how delivery methods like CMAR make it all work.

This is the kind of conversation we love being part of. If you're attending, go find Becky and say hello!

Linbeck is passionate about building environments that inspire, bring communities together, and foster meaningful connections.

Take Christ Chapel Bible Church, for example. This expansion introduced a 1,500-seat bi-level sanctuary with exposed wood beams and ceilings—designed to create both warmth and a sense of grandeur—and equipped the building with state-of-the-art A/V technology to support television broadcasting, concerts, and dynamic productions.

Other highlights of the project included adding a welcoming new entry, education and multi-purpose spaces, a nursery, a kitchen, and, most strikingly, a 115-foot steeple tower that now stands as a landmark for the community.

Together, these enhancements helped support the church's mission and vision for the future.
