Last month, SEC brought the energy with our very first Family Open House Day, and not even dreary weather could slow us down!

The day was packed with fun and plenty of memorable moments: a delicious fish fry, face painting, balloon art, games for all ages, office tours, and a special visit from an ice cream truck. The crowd favorite was our charity dunk tank, where employees lined up for the chance to dunk their bosses, all for a great cause! Thanks to everyone’s enthusiasm and generosity, we raised over $1,600 for Rebuilding Together Houston, the only organization in our region providing free home repairs to hundreds of families each year.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day so special. We loved welcoming your families and sharing a glimpse of where you show up every day, committed to safety excellence. The pride in showcasing your workplace made this event truly meaningful!

to last month when we welcomed the talented summer interns from Energy Transfer to our SEC Energy facility!

They dove into the full natural gas lifecycle—from the starting point at the wellhead all the way to the moment it reaches homes across the country. Along the way, they got a behind-the-scenes look at how we fabricate equipment and deliver the critical services that keep energy flowing smoothly.

We’re always proud to support the next generation of energy professionals, and partnering with Energy Transfer to provide this hands-on experience was a highlight for our team.

The day was filled with team-building activities, delicious food, and meaningful conversations — a true celebration of the culture we have cultivated here at SEC Energy. From a competitive baseball game and soccer dart board challenges to relaxed moments catching up with colleagues under the sun, the event was all about fostering connections and reinforcing teamwork.

Carlos’s journey at SEC began in 2011 in the Quality Control Department. Since then, he has continuously demonstrated a strong work ethic, innovative thinking, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

In 2015, he took on the role of Yard Lead, where he improved material flow and helped optimize delivery processes. A year later, as Bay Lead for the Assembly Shop Flow Line, Carlos played a critical role in increasing shop efficiency—streamlining operations to move units through the line in just days. By 2017, Carlos had taken on one of his biggest challenges yet: Warehouse Manager. Managing over $15M in inventory, he drove improvements in training, SAP utilization, and shop/job site delivery performance.

Carlos’s most recent challenge is his transition to the role of Area
Manager for Shop Services in Houston and MidCon. He remains
committed to continuous learning, improving service to customers, and fostering personal and professional growth.

Since joining SEC in 2022 as a Lead Commissioning Technician, Bobby has consistently delivered top-tier service, ensuring customers receive high-quality products. His dedication recently earned him the Waukesha Gold Wrench Master Certification, a prestigious achievement that recognizes the highest level of expertise in Waukesha Gas Engines. This certification allows him to handle commissioning startups, warranty repairs, and troubleshooting on all Waukesha engines.

Bobby had already achieved Caterpillar 3600 Certification, placing him at the highest level of proficiency with Caterpillar Gas Engines. As the first technician in SEC and Energy Transfer history to hold Master Certifications in both Waukesha and Caterpillar engines, Bobby's unique skill set is unparalleled, making him one of only a few worldwide with these combined certifications.
Bobby is not only a Subject Matter Expert but also a valuable mentor to his team, helping them sharpen their skills for ongoing success. Looking ahead, he plans to expand his expertise in VFDs and generators.

We are incredibly proud of Bobby's accomplishments and his dedication to excellence. Congratulations, Bobby! We're lucky to have you on our team!
