Dulio Pesce, President of Tenaris for the Andean Region, participated in the panel “Energy to Compete: Efficiency, Decarbonization and an Optimal Transition” last weekat the AmCham Colombia 2026 Sustainability Fair, where he shared how Tenaris is working to advance sustainability and competitiveness simultaneously.
“When we talk about sustainability, we are not only talking about large-scale projects. It is also the sum of very concrete improvements across our operations that reduce emissions and resource consumption while enhancing our competitiveness,” Pesce said.
Tenaris’s strategy focuses on increasing the use of recycled raw materials, advancing energy generation projects, and upgrading technologies and processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
In Colombia, these efforts include the construction of a solar farm at Tenaris TuboCaribe, which is expected to cover approximately 25% of the plant’s energy needs, as well as investments to reduce natural gas consumption, improve energy efficiency, and reuse water from industrial processes.
Pesce also highlighted a key factor in accelerating this transformation: clear, consistent and predictable regulatory frameworks that provide greater certainty for long-term industrial investments and help ensure they remain competitive for years to come.
