If we send you a Power Payback conservation alert, you can help your fellow Texans and get paid to lower your usage.

Here's how Power Payback works:

If we see a spike in electricity demand, we will notify you by phone or email.
You reduce your electricity used during the requested time.
If your usage during this time is lower than your average from the same time over the previous 5 weekdays, we’ll give you up to $1 per kilowatt-hour saved.
Power Payback rewards will be applied as a bill credit within your next 3 bill cycles.

"To be eligible for the Ambit Energy Power Payback™ program, participants must have an active Smart Meter and be a Customer of Ambit Energy at the time of the credit posting. Ambit determines a participant’s usage reduction by comparing actual kilowatt-hour reduction during a defined period of extreme electricity consumption to the average consumption during the same time period over the previous five weekdays. Usage reduction must be greater than or equal to one kilowatt-hour to receive a bill credit and credits will be posted within three billing cycles following the event. Ambit Energy reserves the right to discontinue or modify this program and eligibility requirements at its discretion."
