Students from the American Association of Drilling Engineers (AADE) chapters at Oklahoma State University and the University of Oklahoma took their learning to Patterson-UTI Drilling Rigs 589 and 590, getting a firsthand look at the technology, automation, and day-to-day work that support today’s drilling operations.

More than 25 rig managers and HSE advisors recently completed our three-day Introduction to Successful Rig Management (ISRM) program, building their skills to help
prepare new leaders and advisors out in the field.​

The week also brought a full-circle moment as Patterson-UTI Drilling President Marty Unrein, who participated in ISRM 15 years ago, returned to welcome the newest class.​​

We were pleased to support the U.S. Department of State’s Houston Energy Course hosted by the Energy Workforce & Technology Council (EWTC) and share a firsthand look at the people and technology behind today’s drilling and completions industries.​

Following a visit to Patterson-UTI Drilling’s Rig-Up Yard, attendees learned more about drilling operations and the equipment, technology and expertise that support today’s drilling programs.​

The group then spent time at our PTEN™ Digital Performance Center, where they explored the breadth of our drilling and completions-related technology and services, including directional drilling and survey correction, and heard from teams across our businesses.​

Duties include: increasingly complex assembly of equipment including top drives, iron roughnecks, frac/mud pumps, electric/hydraulic systems, and related oilfield equipment.

This summer, Patterson-UTI welcomed instructors, career services staff, and industry relations professionals from Pennsylvania College of Technology, Texas State Technical College (TSTC), and the Airstreams Renewables Military Transition Career Skills Program (CSP) for three days of hands-on learning in the field.

From visits to the Mount Morris Rig Up Yard, Patterson-UTI Drilling Rig 571, NexTier Frac 6, and the Connellsville Maintenance Yard, our guests experienced how teamwork, technology, and our people support safe and efficient drilling and completions operations every day.

Travis Seeney has spent the past 14 years helping move Ulterra forward through hard work and a commitment to the team around him.

As an Operations Supervisor in Leduc, Canada, Travis values, “Delivering top-tier drill bits that keep operations running smoothly and safely, directly driving drilling success every single day.

That same determination extends beyond the workplace. Travis recently completed the 2026 MS Bike – Leduc to Camrose, riding 187 km through heavy wind and pouring rain while raising $2,725 to help fund multiple sclerosis (MS) research and programs.

𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗲 𝗽𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Recently, employees at our Patterson-UTI corporate office and our Midland office came together to assemble 1,000 care packages for redM, whose mission is to support victims of human trafficking. Before getting started, the team learned more about redM through a presentation from one of the organization's volunteers, who shared the impact of its work and showed a video highlighting the people and communities it serves.

Along with essential items, each bag included a handwritten note of encouragement, adding a personal touch for the individuals who will receive them through redM's programs.
