Solar lighting harnesses this natural energy, but it captures it earlier in the process right as sunlight hits the solar panels. How does it work? The sunlight is absorbed by the photovoltaic (PV) cells in the panels, which then convert it directly into electricity. It’s that simple!

💡 Buy lumens, not watts! 💡

The lighting industry can feel a bit like the Wild West, we get it. 🤠 With so many options out there, it’s easy to get confused about what actually makes a light “bright.” One of the most common questions we get is, how bright are solar lights — what's the wattage?

Here’s the truth: Watts don’t equal brightness, lumens do! 🌟

Watts used to be a pretty reliable way to determine brightness, but lighting became vastly more efficient with the advent of LEDs (and that efficiency is what makes solar lighting possible!!). Simply put, LEDs use fewer watts than incandescent and fluorescent bulbs to produce the same amount of lumens.

Using wattage to determine brightness is like using fuel efficiency to determine how fast a car drives.

So, next time you’re shopping for lights, forget the wattage and focus on the lumens. It’s the smarter, more energy-efficient way to light up the world! ✨
