ASR AVIATION SAFETY RESEARCH Dec. 20, 2024
Airport Architecture, Engineering, Research, Development, and Planning Consultants. Society of Automotive Engineers, Airports Council International, National Business Aviation Association.
Dear Elon, I hope this letter finds you well.
The American people and I are in need of your assistance. This is not a request for financial assistance but rather, simply put, your friendship and advisory influence reputation with President-Elect Donald Trump will hopefully, on behalf of my endeavor to bring to air travelers a smarter and safer travel experience, establish and enlist yourself as an advocate of ASR and our liaison to President Trump. My 2018 prediction was presented to the Secretary of Transportation in no uncertain terms. "Favorable Circumstances for a Winter Storm Loss of Life Air Disaster Prevail." My concern appeal was brushed aside. Failure to Authenticate ASR's Prediction. The probability was escalated to imminent for Frontier flight F9-7011 departing Nashville on Feb. 15, 2021. As the aircraft taxied to the runway with the Pilot's intention of taking off, with a foot of snow and ice contamination covering the wings, the fate of the Passengers and Flight Crew was sealed. This time, the flight narrowly escaped tragedy, with the takeoff luckily being aborted. Luck was the only Public Safety Assurance in place that fateful night. Had it not been for the observance of an astute Flight Attendant. Peering through the cabin window using a flashlight, alarming the flight deck of the negligence in Certifying Airworthiness, the flight would have ended in a ball of flames, ending the priceless lives of all that boarded the ill-fated A321 Airbus flight. 2022.
Yet another recent distrusted flight was fortunately canceled with the First Officer's last-minute discovery of adhering ice accumulation on the wings. This time, luck emerged from an unlikely source. The Pilot of the aircraft sitting behind the ill-fated flight announced on the radio that flight 572 "had a huge amount of ice buildup on the wings." The Airport Traffic Controller alerted to the safety risk issue and disallowed clearance for takeoff. Luck will not always prevail in preventing catastrophic icing-related air accidents. The story's moral is when boarding a flight in adverse winter weather, icing events requiring aircraft de/anti-icing, be afraid, be very afraid. The underlying cause of these two near-fatal catastrophic accidents investigated was the FAA's lack of sufficient Regulatory Enforcement Action.
A public outcry in this country is, "We need an investigation by the Legislature to determine why these problems persist without a resolution for so many years.” U.S. Senate: "FAA oversights to keep Flyers safe have been lacking for years." House Subcommittee on Aviation: "New data shows a precipitous drop in FAA enforcement actions."
Our Issue: The bureaucratic FAA lacks the wherewithal due to the nonexistence of transparency between departments and incompetency in procuring ASR's resolution of the well-documented shortfalls of the FAA. Primarily, they are incapable of presenting to America what has been promised: "A Smarter and Safer Aviation System." The FAA's enduring mission is to provide the world's safest, most efficient aviation system. The FAA's best intentions will more than obviously not be forthcoming. ASR's Airports' Winter Operations Modernized Program and Airports' Advanced Safety Management System, 11 part, 121-page Aircraft Ground Deicing technologically advanced methods, practices, and safety protocols guidelines and manual sought after by the Transportation Research Board and the FAA has been repeatedly presented to the FAA for acquisition and rejected. Why, I believe, has been answered. However, more specifically, the issue lies with the FAA Acquisition Group. Rather than a Presidential Airport Improvement Program procurement, funding for acquisition is being passed on to The FAA's Research Program. This emphasizes the FAA's incompetence, believing that because our corporate name, Aviation Safety Research, bears the name Research, our program has been passed on to the Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP).
Please allow me to forward to you my Airports Winter Operations Program to be presented to President Trump for the opportunity by executive order to provide to the FAA, Congress, and the Public what they seek and are in desperate need of. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my letter. I am anticipating, with great enthusiasm, your interest and profound intellectual understanding of this complexing predicament I find myself in.
