One of my favorite parts about owning a business is watching people grow.

Today I had the chance to reconnect with Christian. A few years ago, he worked with us here at Turbo Home Services. Now he’s the owner of his own restoration company, and it was great catching up and seeing how far he’s come.

Moments like this remind me that success isn’t about holding people back—it’s about helping them move forward. We don’t expect everyone who joins our team to stay forever. If someone learns the trade, grows professionally, and one day decides to build something of their own, we’ll be cheering them on.

That mindset comes from my own journey.

About 10 years ago, I started in HVAC as an installer at John Moore. I was just trying to learn everything I could and become a better technician every day. Fast forward to today, and I’m attending networking events as the owner of Turbo Home Services, meeting incredible people, building relationships, and continuing to learn from others.

Life has a funny way of coming full circle.

No matter where you’re starting today, keep learning, work hard, treat people right, and never stop growing. You never know where you’ll be 10 years from now.

💧 What Is an A/C Float Switch and Why Is It So Important?

Most homeowners don’t think about their A/C drain line until water starts dripping from the ceiling or soaking the floor.

A float switch is a small safety device installed on your air conditioner’s condensate drain system. Its job is simple: if the drain line clogs and water starts backing up, the float switch shuts off the A/C before it can overflow and cause water damage.

I was talking with a homeowner in Pasadena, TX today after inspecting their water heater. They were surprised to see how much mineral buildup had collected inside the tank. It wasn’t dirt—it was years of hard water minerals settling at the bottom.

This is something we see all the time, not just in Pasadena, but across Houston, Cypress, Spring, The Woodlands, Katy, Pearland, League City, Baytown, Deer Park, La Porte, and surrounding areas. Our water contains natural minerals like calcium and magnesium that can build up over time inside water heaters, faucets, showerheads, and plumbing fixtures.
