Houston heavy steel fabrication is getting a little heavier around here!

Just another small project moving through JK Welding.

A 500,000-pound capacity lifting beam.

Yes, you read that right. HALF A MILLION POUNDS!

Our team has completed fabrication on this massive lifting beam, and it’s looking great.

Next up is magnetic particle (MP) testing to inspect the welds before the project moves into its next stage.

When you’re fabricating lifting equipment designed to handle loads of this magnitude, every detail matters.

From material preparation and fit-up to welding and inspection, our team understands the importance of getting the job done right.

These are the kinds of projects where experience, equipment, and craftsmanship come together.

When you’ve got a deadline to meet, you need more than equipment. You need the right people who know how to get the job done.

Multiple welders working together, production moving, and everyone focused on getting this project completed on schedule.

New double overhead cranes, who dis?

Our additional shop space needs the lifting power to match, so we’re adding double overhead cranes to help our team handle larger and heavier projects throughout the new facility.

More room to fabricate.
More lifting capacity.
More projects moving through JK Welding.

We’re building the shop around where we’re headed next.

The next wave is moving through production, and we’re getting closer to the finish line with every skid that leaves the shop.

Some cuts require a little more experience than others!

We’re doing some serious cutting here at JK Welding, and this isn’t your everyday cutting job.

We’re cutting material lengthwise, something we don’t do very often, so having someone who understands the process makes all the difference.

Our project manager is right there with the crew, making sure everything is going according to plan, answering questions, and teaching the guys how to approach the job correctly.

That’s one of the things we appreciate about our team.

Experience isn’t just about knowing how to do something. It’s about being willing to teach the next person how to do it right.

We’re fortunate to have knowledgeable people who can step in, lead by example, and help everyone continue improving their skills.

Our shop expansion isn’t just about adding more space, it’s about adding more capability.

With additional room dedicated to load testing, we’re able to perform more testing in-house instead of relying on outside facilities. That means better control over scheduling, quality, and turnaround times for our customers.

We’re continuing to invest in our facility so we can do more under one roof and better serve the industries that count on us.

Welders, which way are you taking this one?

You’ve got a fabrication this size with some serious round bar to weld out.

Everybody has their preferred position and method when they have enough room to choose.

Some want to get comfortable and work from underneath.

Some want to be standing over it.

Some will reposition the entire piece before they strike an arc.

And some of y’all are going to look at this picture and immediately tell us we’re doing it wrong.

That’s exactly what we want to hear.

Does anyone else have someone constantly breaking the safety curtain and stopping production?

Because around here, apparently that’s one of Boss Man’s specialties.

Everything is moving along perfectly, then he walks through at exactly the wrong time and the whole operation stops.

Please tell us we’re not the only shop dealing with this.
