No Heat? Don't Call Us (Yet!) Try These 3 Steps!
The first cold snap in Houston always puts your furnace to the test. Before you call for service, run through this quick checklist—it fixes the problem more often than you think!
1. Check the Thermostat Mode:
Is the setting switched from "Cool" to "Heat"? And is the fan setting on "Auto"? This is the most common fix!
2. Check the Filter:
A clogged air filter restricts airflow, which can cause your furnace to overheat and shut down as a safety measure. A clean filter is a safe filter!
3. Check the Furnace Switch:
Most furnaces have a red emergency switch (looks like a light switch) near the unit or on the wall. Make sure it hasn't been accidentally turned "OFF".
Still feeling chilly? That’s when it’s time to call the experts at CIK Services.
