Fervo Energy's first power plant at Cape Station in Beaver County, Utah, has reached commercial operations ahead of schedule, making it the first greenfield enhanced geothermal development in the world to achieve this feat.

This achievement reflects the shared commitment of our contractor partners, executive leadership, construction leadership, HSE team, and the crews working across all our sites. Their focus on leading indicators, proactive leadership, and a practical, risk-based approach to safety continues to drive strong safety performance.

Just four months after going public, Fervo has delivered on a landmark milestone for the future of enhanced geothermal systems (EGS).

Cape Station has achieved First Power – marking the first utility-scale EGS development in the world to reach this milestone. Building on the technology we've run at Project Red since 2023, Cape Station brings EGS to a new scale, turning years of subsurface science and engineering work into an operating power plant selling electricity to the grid.

And we are just getting started. As the U.S. faces its fastest electricity demand growth in decades, EGS stands out as one of the few carbon-free resources capable of delivering firm, always-on power.

It was a milestone week for Fervo Energy.

We generated First Power at Cape Station, our flagship geothermal development in Beaver County, Utah, proving enhanced geothermal can deliver firm, carbon-free power at commercial scale. This marked the first megawatts of the multi-gigawatt development.

The U.S. Department of Energy also awarded Fervo two new grants to advance EGS development in Idaho and Nevada, supporting a targeted appraisal campaign and next-generation technology for high-temperature operations.

And at Climate Week NYC, CEO Tim Latimer joined The New York Times' Climate Forward event to discuss scaling geothermal, why the technology is winning support across the political spectrum, and how he believes the industry could grow twentyfold in the years ahead.

First Power. New grants. A national stage. One clear goal: prove it, standardize it, repeat it.

This week, Fervo Energy generated First Power at Cape Station, our flagship geothermal development near Beaver County, Utah, representing a landmark moment for the future of enhanced geothermal systems.

For the first time, power from Cape Station Phase I is flowing through the transmission network. GeoBlock 1 is operating and in the early stages of its production ramp, with commissioning continuing on GeoBlocks 2 and 3. Enhanced geothermal is built to deliver firm, 24/7 carbon-free power, and Cape Station is where we prove it at commercial scale.

Cape Station is fully contracted with investment-grade offtakers, and Phase I is backed by $421.4 million in non-recourse project financing.

This milestone is years in the making, and we are grateful for the Fervo team, our partners, and the communities who helped make it possible.

There is much more work ahead but today brings us one step closer to our goal: prove it, standardize it, repeat it.
