Fervo is excited to expand our strategic collaboration with Vallourec, a world leader in premium tubular solutions for the energy industry. This new five-year agreement reinforces our ongoing work with Vallourec, a leading supplier of U.S.-manufactured casing for geothermal wells, which are produced at their facility in Youngstown, Ohio.

Pushing the envelope in geothermal deployment requires simultaneous innovation in equipment and supply chain. Vallourec’s precision-engineered, high-performance tubulars provide the innovative solution geothermal energy needs to effectively case wells in harsh geothermal environments.

This deal gives us the cost certainty and supply chain resilience to scale our GeoBlock model with confidence. We're excited to continue our rapid growth and unlock new opportunities for American-made steel.

Fervo Energy has signed a new turbine supply agreement with Turboden S.p.A., part of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), to support deployment of up to 35 GeoBlocks of 50 MW each — totaling 1.7 GW of firm, 24/7 carbon-free power.

Standardized 50 MW GeoBlocks enable faster, more predictable buildout as we scale. Securing key equipment and delivery timelines ensures projects stay on track. And as power demand rises, driven by AI and data centers, geothermal is ready to deliver reliable, around-the-clock energy.

This framework agreement strengthens the supply chain needed to build geothermal at scale, with defined delivery timelines that help reduce risk and accelerate deployment.

By combining Fervo’s enhanced geothermal approach with Turboden’s ORC technology and the global capabilities of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, we’re building the foundation to deploy clean, firm power — at speed and at scale.

Modern drill bits are helping accelerate the next generation of geothermal energy.

Polycrystalline diamond compact (PDC) drill bits – long used in shale development – are being adapted for high-temperature geothermal environments. Unlike traditional roller-cone bits that crush rock, PDC bits shear it continuously using ultra-hard synthetic diamond cutters. The result: faster drilling, longer bit life, and lower well costs - especially in deeper, hotter wells.

As the International Energy Agency notes, the crossover of oil and gas technologies into geothermal is helping reduce costs and accelerate deployment. At projects like Cape Station, applying decades of drilling innovation is helping scale carbon-free, always-on power.

: Meet Jonathan Haines!

Jon supports Fervo’s geothermal development by managing and analyzing spatial data across the company’s project portfolio. As a GIS Analyst, he develops maps, dashboards, and online applications that inform land acquisition and leasing strategies, project planning, and real-time views of development progress. Jon works closely with teams across permitting, geology, development, drilling, and external contractors to translate complex datasets into clear, usable tools that guide decision-making in the field and in the office. His work helps ensure project constraints, optimal well placement, and evolving site conditions are accurately represented and easily understood across teams.
