Fervo Energy has set a new company record for drilling pace, completing Sawtooth 7 — the ninth well at Cape Station for Phase II — from spud to total depth in just 21 days using our most advanced 3.0 well design.
Matching the 21-day drilling pace Fervo previously achieved for Cape Station Phase I wells that were substantially shallower and shorter, Sawtooth 7 reached a measured depth of 19,448 feet with a 7,500-foot lateral. Since drilling our first Cape Station well, we've increased drilling rates by 143%, demonstrating how incremental learnings continue to drive major productivity gains and cost reductions over time.
Based on the initial Phase II drilling results using our 3.0 well design, we expect to produce substantially more megawatts per well while significantly improving the unit economics of future GeoBlocks to advance the deployment of affordable, dependable, 24/7 carbon-free power.
