Growing up in the Dutch culture and community as a kid a lot of families had windmills in the front of their house. This was a fun project I'm going to build a few more.

I built this pulpit for the Tri-State Family Christian Center. The Christian Center has been a beacon of light in our community for decades. Check out their website. I will post more projects I've been building in the shop.

Project that we've been working on for the last few years. It's being done in phases. Converting a barn into a house. Barn is over 146 years old. I just added the deck.

Because of the lack of quality in the lumber today for pressure treated. I seal my cuts and add tape on top of the joist and girder for extra protection. This should add another 10 to 15 years to the deck.

Romans 12:12-13 NASB 95
Rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality.

There is so much to say, but that will be another time. But this is what I will say.

It has been amazing to see the body of Christ come together and work to restore Chimney Rock, NC. Spokes of Hope, a non-denominational Christian ministry, is leading the way by the grace of God. The community lost everything; less than (what I was told) 1% had flood insurance. The town of Batcave lost their homes and is now in a tent city. Despite all they have lost, many hold to the Christian faith, having Hope, and praying for the return of their town.

Luke and I had the pleasure of serving with the Victory Church from Atlanta; they are incredible servants for the Lord, very diligent and hardworking. We met people from all over the U.S., including Washington State. Luke and I experienced southern hospitality from Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church, which provided us with a room and showers, as well as a trunk and treats for Luke. Everyone made us feel like we were family, and we are—brothers and sisters in Christ.

The pictures and videos still cannot convey the devastation and loss that happened.

If you want to help or build a church team, contact Shane or Connie from Spokes of Hope. They took excellent care of us while we were there.

We are planning to return soon and serve.
