Juneteenth marks a pivotal moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, more than two years after President Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, and informed the last enslaved people that they were free.

Today, Juneteenth serves as a powerful reminder of resilience, progress, and the ongoing pursuit of equity. As we commemorate this day, we also reflect on the role transportation plays in building inclusive, accessible, and thriving communities.

Equitable transportation means ensuring that everyone, regardless of race, income, or zip code, has access to safe, reliable, and affordable mobility options. Whether it's expanding public transit services, improving infrastructure for people with disabilities, or designing streets that serve everyone, our work directly impacts economic opportunity and social equity.

On this day of reflection and celebration, we honor the contributions of Black Americans, especially those who have shaped and continue to lead in the transportation industry. We also reaffirm our commitment to advancing transportation solutions that move toward a more connected, just, and equitable future for all.

🚧 Work Zone Awareness Doesn’t End Here! 🚧

As National Work Zone Awareness Week wraps up, remember: work zones are shared spaces every day of the year. Every time you see orange, slow down, stay alert, and drive responsibly.

Keeping roadway crews safe is a shared responsibility — and it doesn’t stop when the week ends.

Let’s make every drive a safe one. 🧡

🌍 Happy Earth Day!

Every small action adds up to a healthier planet, so let’s make a difference together! Here are a few ways to go green and give back to the Earth:

🚆 Opt for Public Transit – Buses, trains, and subways produce fewer emissions per passenger than individual cars.
🚲 Bike or Walk – Short trips? Skip the car and enjoy the fresh air while reducing pollution.
🚗 Carpool or Rideshare – Sharing a ride reduces emissions and traffic congestion.
💡 Conserve Energy – Switch to LED bulbs and unplug devices when not in use.
🌱 Plant a Tree – Trees absorb CO2 and provide vital oxygen!
♻️ Reduce, Reuse, Recycle – Cut down on waste and keep materials in use longer.
🐠 Reduce Plastic Waste – Opt for reusable bags, bottles, and straws.

Every choice counts! As Green Transportation Leaders and Planet‑First Planners, we each play a role in making sustainable mobility accessible and protecting our planet for the long term. Let’s keep moving toward cleaner, healthier communities—one trip at a time.

How will you make your transportation more sustainable today? ✨

🚧 National Work Zone Awareness Week is here! 🚧

At Rossi Group, safety is at the heart of every project. This year’s theme, “Work Zones Are Shared Spaces,” reminds us that everyone plays a role in keeping our roads safe.

When driving through work zones, expect the unexpected and follow these safety tips:

✔ Stay focused and avoid distractions
✔ Slow down and follow posted speed limits
✔ Watch for workers, pedestrians & bicyclists
✔ Give extra space to commercial vehicles
✔ Follow signed detours — they’re there for your safety

Let’s work together to protect the people who keep our communities moving. 💛
