JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for establishing, monitoring, and evaluating all day-to-day accounting activities including developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting financial information.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Plan, implement and oversee accounting strategy.
2. Oversee daily operations of the accounting department as managed by the Accounting Supervisor.
3. Ensure there is a redundant back-up process in place for every critical operation.
4. Monitor and maintain technology to determine ways to automate the accounting process.
5. Manage pre-close and support Controller with monthly close as needed.
6. Monitor and analyze accounting data and KPI’s.
7. Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements including oversight of billing, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
8. Provides insight and recommendations on collection efforts of past due invoices.
9. Oversee recruiting, hiring and training of new employees, including cross-training within the accounting department.
10. Responsible for the filing of all applicable sales and excise tax returns.
11. Ensures organization adheres to proper accounting methods, policies and principles.
12. Prepares and oversees all requested documentation for internal and external audits.
13. Assist marketing and contracting departments with data analysis needed for job quotes and potential new customers.
14. Prepares various ad-hoc reports on an as-needed basis.
15. Responsible for documenting and streamlining all accounting processes.
16. Maintains confidentiality for staff and company records at all times.
17. Responsible for all regulatory and customer compliance reporting.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA preferred.
2. At least 5+ years of experience in accounting and supervisory roles.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office (strong excel skills required).
4. Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct professional and administrative personnel.
5. Critical thinker with problem-solving skills.
6. Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
7. Sage accounting system experience is preferred
8. Good time management skills.
