Building a house is rarely a smooth process.

Even with good planning, things like soil conditions, weather, and site-specific challenges can impact the timeline. On this project, we encountered heavily compacted soil during excavation and added additional drainage to safeguard the home in the long run. Additionally, two snowstorms delayed our ability to start and complete framing on schedule.

This is a normal part of building. The key is making smart decisions and the ability to handle schedule changes so the home is well-built.

Living room renovation in Port Washington.

The goal was to simplify the layout, improve the proportions around the fireplace, and add storage without making the room feel heavier.

We reworked the symmetry, installed a marble surround scaled to the space, and created a nook for additional storage along the window wall. Durable fabrics and natural materials keep it comfortable for everyday family life.
