Talking about myself is like fingernails down a chalkboard to me. But, I care deeply about women being in the construction profession and owning their own businesses in whatever industry they love. October is Women's Small Business Month, and my marketing friends twisted my arm to share a bit about my story since I'm passionate about women entrepreneurship.

I got my start at Jeff Benton Homes over 28 years ago, which grew into one of the largest homebuilding companies in the state. I'm forever grateful for the mentors and friendships I built there. In many ways, they gave me the confidence to start my own homebuilding business.

My parents instilled a strong work ethic in me, and my own kids gave me all the reasons to go for it. I am blessed to be encouraged by family.

Along my journey of entrepreneurship, I've met others—real estate agents, brokers, other builders, vendors, my own small team—who just keep cheering me on. There are too many to name, but I hope they know who they are.

This post is a big thank you to those who've helped make LeeHouse Homebuilding what it is!! 💛 Entrepreneurship is an individual trek with (hopefully) many kind souls on the roadside as you pass by, handing out encouraging words and offering life-giving provisions. I'm grateful to not be alone on this journey.
