Why Is AC Maintenance Important?
Your air conditioner works hard, especially here in Texas. One small component starting to fail can turn into a much bigger and more expensive problem.
One of the things we check during maintenance is the run capacitor.
What does a run capacitor do?
A run capacitor helps your AC motors start and continue running efficiently. When a capacitor gets weak, your system may:
• Struggle to start
• Run inefficiently
• Draw higher electrical current
• Cause motors or compressors to overheat
• Eventually leave you with an AC that won't run
A capacitor can look perfectly fine on the outside and still test weak. That's why testing components, not just looking at them, is an important part of proper maintenance.
Regular maintenance allows us to catch weakening components, dirty coils, electrical issues, refrigerant problems, and drainage issues before they turn into an unexpected breakdown.
