From Tokyo's skyline to the historic streets of Kyoto, this summer's ASCTE trip to Japan gave dozens of students the chance to experience a different part of the world firsthand.

Throughout the trip, students explored Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Nara, and other incredible destinations. They sampled local food, rode the famous bullet train, attended a professional baseball game, navigated public transit, visited castles and shrines, and experienced everyday life in Japan.

Some of the most meaningful learning happened beyond the itinerary. Students met people from another culture, saw history come to life, and came home with experiences that simply can't be recreated in a classroom.

We're proud of the curiosity, confidence, and willingness to embrace something new that our students showed throughout the journey.

We're already looking forward to our next adventure in Italy and Greece in Summer 2027.

Some of the best conversations happen when great educators get in the same room.

ASCTE President Matt Massey recently met with the Council of Chief State School Officers' Teachers of the Year during their visit to Space Camp at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. The discussion focused on ASCTE's educational model, our curriculum, and how professional learning developed in Alabama is supporting classrooms from New York to Alaska.

We were honored to share our work with these outstanding educators and learn from their experiences serving students across the country.

527 AP exams. One incredible group of scholars.

75% of the tests scored a 3 or higher, which is considered qualified by the College Board and may earn students college credit or advanced placement at many colleges and universities.

Every Sentinel enrolled in an AP course takes the exam, making these results a reflection of our impressive ASCTE AP program!

Congratulations to our students and teachers on an outstanding year!

ASCTE's work in AI education is reaching a national stage.....again.

We're so excited for Mary Clair Wright and Emory Wilkinson '26 to present at the 2026 Making Schools Work Conference in Nashville. Their session, "The GRACE Model: Developing Alabama's First AI Curriculum Through Student Co-Design," highlights an approach that brings educators and students together to build meaningful AI learning experiences.

As AI continues to reshape education, we're honored to contribute to the national conversation alongside educators from across the country.

ASCTE was pleased to welcome The University of Alabama in Huntsville's new President Dr. Donald Leo to campus for a tour and discussion about the partnership between ASCTE and The University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Joined by ASCTE Board member and UAH Center for Cybersecurity Research and Education Director Dr. Tommy Morris, the visit included discussions about internships, workforce development, and how ASCTE and higher education partners work together to prepare students for careers in AI, cybersecurity, and engineering.

We truly appreciate Dr. Leo taking the time to visit our campus and look forward to continuing this incredible partnership.

What happens in an ASCTE classroom doesn't always stay in Alabama.

This summer, ASCTE partnered with Dwight School to bring our Summer Technology & Engineering Camp to New York.

Developed by ASCTE and taught by ASCTE instructors, the camp introduced students to hands-on learning in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, engineering, and digital systems through four specialized programs designed to spark curiosity and challenge students to solve real-world problems.

Partnerships like this allow us to share ASCTE's approach to STEM education with schools beyond Alabama while creating meaningful learning experiences for students in new communities.
