Job Title: Industrial Machinery Rigger
Job Summary: The Industrial Machinery Rigger is responsible for safely and efficiently rigging, lifting, and transporting heavy machinery and equipment in an industrial setting. This position requires knowledge of rigging techniques, safety protocols, and mechanical systems to ensure machinery is moved, installed, and secured correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Rigging and Lifting Operations: Utilize ropes, slings, chains, hoists, cranes, and other equipment to lift, lower, and transport heavy machinery and equipment.
2. Set-Up and Installation: Assist in the proper installation of industrial machinery by positioning it, aligning it, and ensuring it's secured in place.
3. Safety Compliance: Follow strict safety guidelines to protect workers and machinery during rigging, lifting, and installation. Ensure all lifting equipment is in safe working condition.
4. Inspection and Maintenance: Inspect and maintain rigging tools and equipment (slings, cables, hoists, etc.) to ensure safety and reliability.
5. Coordination with Team: Work closely with engineers, machine operators, and other riggers to coordinate the safe and efficient movement of machinery.
6. Load Calculations: Assist in determining the appropriate load limits for rigging and lifting operations.
7. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all rigging equipment used, including inspections and maintenance logs.
8. Troubleshooting: Identify any issues with rigging equipment or machinery during transportation and installation and propose solutions.
