We’re excited to share highlights from our 2026 company picnic at Smokey Glen Farm in Gaithersburg, Maryland!

From awards and speeches to plenty of laughs, good conversations, and time spent together outside of work, it was an afternoon full of great memories. A big thank-you to for capturing so many special moments, and to everyone who came out and made the day such a success.

Here’s a look back at a great day of teamwork, connection, and fun!

Great minds dress alike! 💙

Looks like the Accounting team at W.M. Schlosser is on the same wavelength, right down to the matching Schlosser hoodies! Coincidence or great minds thinking alike? We’re going with both!

And the winner is... Chris! 🎉

Congratulations to Chris, Assistant Superintendent, whose photo took the top spot in our 2026 W.M. Schlosser Employee Appreciation Picnic Photo Contest!

His winning shot captured a special moment with his 3-year-old daughter, enjoying a fun day with Dad and his coworkers, complete with some good corn! 🌽

Thank you to everyone who submitted photos and voted. We loved seeing all the great memories from our day at Smokey Glen Farm!

Congratulations, Chris, on winning the $100 Amazon gift card!

As Karla wraps up her summer internship with us this month, we asked her to reflect on her experience.

One of her favorite moments was shadowing the quality control inspector during the concrete pour at FB-8, giving her a firsthand look at the coordination and attention to detail that goes into every project.

When asked what surprised her most, she shared:
"Something that surprised me was how many people and steps you need to go through to finalize a decision in projects."

And her favorite part?
"I think my favorite part of my internship is visiting the sites and seeing all the operations work together, and especially the people. I enjoy the conversations and comradery within the team. (They are very funny)."

We're grateful for the enthusiasm, curiosity, and positive attitude Karla brought to the team this summer. Thank you for all your hard work, and we wish you the very best as you continue your studies in architecture.

We can't wait to see what you accomplish next.

W.M. Schlosser wishes everyone a very happy Fourth of July.

Today we celebrate 250 years of independence, a milestone that invites both reflection and joy. It is a day to come together with family and friends, enjoy the summer, and take pride in the history that brings us here.

Today we recognize Juneteenth, a day that honors freedom and marks an important moment in our nation's history.

Juneteenth is an opportunity to reflect on the end of slavery in the United States, honor the resilience and contributions of generations of African Americans, and remember the importance of freedom, equality, and opportunity for all.

Today we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

On this Memorial Day, we remember their courage, their sacrifice, and the families who carry their memory forward. Their legacy is one of service, dedication, and love of country.

Gone but never forgotten. We remember and we are grateful.

Award of Excellence for Historic Courthouse Renovation

W. M. Schlosser Company is proud to announce we have received an Award of Excellence from the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services for Building Design and Construction, recognizing our work on the Historic Courthouse Wings Renovation project, awarded May 19, 2026.

This project was a true honor, restoring and reimagining three historic courthouse wings at 4000 Chain Bridge Road in Fairfax, Virginia. With a project value of $8,252,196.70, the work brought together complex civil, architectural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), and specialty construction, all delivered in a sensitive and historic environment.

We are incredibly proud of our team, Project Executive Ashu, Project Manager Ray, Superintendent Wilder, Quality Control Manager Saidullah, MEP Manager Robert, and Field Office Manager Michele, whose leadership, coordination, and commitment to excellence made this achievement possible.

We are grateful to Fairfax County for their trust and partnership, and we are honored to have contributed to preserving and strengthening such an important community landmark.

Say hello to our summer intern Karla who spent her first day on site today!

We’re so happy to welcome Karla Rosette to the W.M. Schlosser team as our Summer Intern supporting the WMATA Fan Shaft Rehab project.

Karla is currently studying architecture at Andrews University, where she also shines as part of the acrobatic and cheer team. She brings a wonderful mix of creativity, curiosity, and enthusiasm for learning how things are built and how teams bring projects to life.

She has a natural creative spirit, whether she’s sketching, crafting, building Lego and model projects, or finding inspiration in everyday details. Outside of school and work, she’s often cheering on Mexico, Cruz Azul, or Barcelona, or spending time with her very adorable puppy.

We’re excited to have Karla with us this summer and look forward to the energy, ideas, and fresh perspective she’s already bringing to the team.

Construction Safety Week is here, and this year’s theme says it best, All In Together.

At WM Schlosser, we’re focused on three actions that protect our people and strengthen every jobsite:

RecognizeHigh energy hazards, high-risk tasks, and the STCKY, the stuff that can kill you, demand our full attention. Early identification isn’t optional, it’s how we prevent serious injuries before they happen.

RespondSeeing a hazard is only the first step. Planning ahead and putting the right controls in place is what turns awareness into real protection on the job.

RespectEvery task, every phase, every change matters. We plan, we execute, and when something shifts, we stop, reassess, and adapt. That’s how we honor the work and the people doing it.

Safety isn’t a checklist, it’s a commitment we make together, every single day.
